Portal3D SpA is a Chilean company, born in 2007
as the result of development efforts to build a volumetric
measurement system for wood loads on trucks,
based on laser technologies. It started in 1999 as a 
research project funded by CORFO, having 
CMPC-Celulosa S.A. as launch client. 

Since then we have developed a range of products
than work synergetically for the wood and pulp industry,
with installations in Chile and Brasil. 

Our products are protected by industrial patents and
utilize different cutting edge measurement technologies.

P3D Truck

P3D-TRUCK is a 3D Laser Measurement
System for wood loads on board of trucks. 

It measures wooden logs of any type, carried by all sorts
of trucks with high precision, repeatability and leaving a
precise audit trail. Also measures chips and biomass.

The system determines the frame volume as well as
the solid volume under bark (this in conjunction with 
our P3D-LOGS system). 

Mature and robust system with uptime above 99,5%.
Can be combined with truck fleet monitoring systems.

P3D logs

P3D-LOGS is a 3D Laser Volume
Measurement System for individual logs
placed on conveyor belts.

It measures wooden logs of any type when installed above 
the conveyor belt that carries logs from a reception table
(or debarker) to the corresponding chipper. 

P3D-LOGS measures the average diameter, length and solid
volume of each log. It is therefore useful for: 

– measuring total solid volume of logs processed in a pulp mill 

– measuring solid wood volume in single trucks, a substitute
for expensive manual measurement methods

Mature and robust system with uptime above 99,5%. Can be
combined with PI systems as well as truck fleet monitoring systems.

P3D belt

P3D-BELT is a 3D Laser System for
measuring loose volume of chips/biomass
placed on conveyor belts.

When installed together with our P3D-LOGS system,
it can measure the ratio between solid volume under bark
of logs and loose volume of chips, in a continuous (24/7) way.

It is therefore useful for: 

– measuring efficiency of a chipper and its variations.

– measuring total loose volume processed in a pulp mill.

– measuring loose volume of biomass processed in a power plant.

Mature and robust system with uptime above 99,5%.
Can be combined with PI systems.
